Francisco Ortega is the Head of 2D/VFX Supervisor at FOLKS Bogotá, bringing a strong technical background and nearly two decades of experience to every project. He began his career with an internship at Efe-X, a post-production company specializing in TV commercials, where he worked alongside some of Colombia’s most talented VFX artists. From there, he moved into feature films and series, gradually expanding his scope and expertise at companies such as CINECOLOR and MPC.

At FOLKS, Francisco has supervised projects such as Spider-Man, Titans, The Rookie, Retribution, and Bass Reeves. His earlier credits include Embrace of the Serpent (nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film), The Damned, Roa, Fragments of Love, Regreso a la Guaca, and La Reina del Sur.

Francisco brings a strong technical perspective to his work. He enjoys building setups that support automation and procedural workflows, and his background in quality control has sharpened his eye for detail. His approach is grounded in reference and research, starting with how things behave in the real world and applying that knowledge to each shot.

He’s often praised for his dedication, curiosity, and ability to propose creative solutions that elevate the final result.
