María José Santa Rita is an Executive Producer at FOLKS Bogotá, based in Mexico City. She has nearly twenty years of experience in post-production. María José’s career began with compositing in After Effects, eventually moving into Nuke. Over time, her curiosity led her to production, where she discovered new ways to support creative teams and bring projects to life. 

Her production credits span a wide range of titles, including The Witcher: Blood Origin, Selena: The Series, See You on Venus, Sierra Madre, Radical, and the multi-award-winning La Jaula de Oro, which earned her an Ariel Award nomination for Best Visual Effects. 

Driven by both experience and instinct, María José knows how to navigate the balance between creative ambition and practical constraints. She’s known for building strong, trusting relationships with clients, directors and artists, and for helping shape workflows that allow teams to do their best work. 

What keeps María José going project after project is her deep respect for storytelling, a love of collaboration, and the satisfaction of seeing clients come back with their next big idea. 

She is a member of the International Colorist Academy.
