Bringing the Castle to Life
FOLKS was thrilled to bring our visual effects expertise to "Descendants: The Rise of Red," particularly in creating the Queen's castle—a central setting in the movie. Nestled against towering mountains, our team meticulously crafted this majestic CGI castle, surrounded by a lush CG garden. To enhance realism, chimney smoke was added, and intricate details such as floor textures, wall patterns, and brickwork were crafted so that they blended seamlessly into the real-life decor. Wooden beams on the second floors, rocks, and vines on the walls, and aged textures on the floors further enriched the castle's authenticity.
Enhancing Scenes of Rebellion
During the night sequences, FOLKS enhanced the sky and added a dramatic lightning bolt. During a pivotal action scene, our team crafted heart-shaped CGI fireworks to accompany Red's rebellion against the Queen. Additionally, our animation team depicted Red tearing down the Queen's banner with realistic tearing effects and detailed red paint, which underscored the intensity of the rebellion.
