Today, meet Shivangi, one of our dedicated 3D modeling artists, whose passion for the craft shines through at FOLKS Mumbai.

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT FOLKS?
I’m a 3D Modeling Artist at FOLKS. I’m also a trainer in the Buddy Training Program, where I help new trainees in the Modeling Department; I love seeing new artists grow and knowing that my hands-on mentoring and support contribute to our projects' success.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE FIELD OF VISUAL EFFECTS?
I started my visual effects journey at Arena Animation in Mumbai and then took it further by teaching myself through online workshops and tutorials. I think this mixed approach has enabled me to develop a wider range of skills and deepen my expertise in the field.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT WORKING IN VFX AND AT FOLKS?
I love creating digital realities in VFX. At FOLKS, I get to do what I'm passionate about every day, which is incredibly fulfilling.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT MUMBAI? IF YOU COULD TRANSFER TO ANOTHER PITCH BLACK LOCATION, WHERE WOULD YOU GO?
One of the best things about Mumbai is the supportive and helpful nature of its people. If I had the chance to transfer, I'd choose Adelaide because it's home to lots of renowned museums and art galleries dedicated to natural history.

WHAT IS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW?
People might be surprised to learn that I'm a meditation teacher. I guide children aged 5-12 in mindfulness practices. I've been practicing meditation for 9 years and am passionate about fostering inner peace and well-being, even from a young age.

IS THERE A FOLKS PROJECT YOU PARTICULARLY ENJOYED?
I thoroughly enjoyed working on the Kalki 2898 AD project. As the deadline approached, I really pushed my limits and learned a lot. It was a great experience that boosted my skills and gave me more confidence in my creative abilities.
