Simon Devault is a VFX supervisor at FOLKS, bringing over almost two decades of experience to the industry.

Simon's career in visual effects began with his love for photography, which eventually led to a passion for filmmaking. After completing a production and post-production program, he began his career at RodeoFX as a compositor before joining FOLKS to become compositing supervisor, VFX supervisor, on-set VFX supervisor, and eventually Head of the Montreal Studio.

Passionate about the creative process, Simon recently made the decision to return to his role as VFX Supervisor, where he focuses on delivering high-quality visual effects for film and television. As Head of Studio for FOLKS Montreal, Simon led his visual effects team on an eclectic list of projects, including Bad Boys Ride or Die, Harold and the Purple Crayon, Umbrella Academy, and Dark Matter.

As a supervisor, Simon ensures that every project stays true to the director's vision while balancing creative ambition with deadlines and budgets. He is particularly passionate about getting out and shoot practical elements—whether as references or actual footage—to enhance realism and elevate the quality of visual effects.
