Phil Prates is a VFX Supervisor at FOLKS, known for his technical expertise and leadership. A trained artist, Phil began his career in commercial visual effects and has worked at every stage of the VFX process.

At FOLKS, Phil has supervised major projects, including Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Creator, American Primeval, Daredevil: Born Again, Murderbot, Wednesday, and The Black Phone 2. His commitment to photorealism ensures that every project meets the highest quality standards, creating tactile, real, and seamless VFX work.

Phil’s contributions to the industry have earned him recognition, including a 2024 VES Award for Outstanding Compositing and Lighting in a Feature for The Creator. He is a member of the Visual Effects Society and serves on the VFX advisory board at Seneca VFX, where he helps shape the next generation of artists.
