JOHN ROUSE
VFX Supervisor
John Rouse is a Visual Effects Supervisor at FOLKS Los Angeles and has been with the group since 2017. Over the years, John has contributed his expertise on-set, and/or in post-production, to a variety of notable projects, including Monsters, Grotesquerie, Presumed Innocent, TED, The Morning Show, Castle Rock, and The Orville. Previously, he worked with CBS Television Studios, developing VFX for Star Trek: Discovery - Season 1.
With a strong background in 3D artwork and research, John plays an active role in shaping the CG development of his projects. His specialization in photogrammetry, multi-camera scanning arrays, mocap, and the acquisition of props, environments, digi-doubles, and FACS datasets which help ensure technical excellence of every project he oversees.
This deep technical knowledge of large-scale productions, combined with his creative on-set and post-production problem-solving skills, enables him to come up with solutions for the most intricate and high-pressure VFX work.
John is an active member of the Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH, and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
