  • Sébastien Bergeron

    President / VFX Supervisor

    With a career spanning over 20 years in the industry, Sébastien has established himself as a visionary in the vfx community and one of the most creative storytellers in the business. His artistic confidence and keen eye for detail inspires our team to do the impossible, everyday. Prior to partnering on Folks, Sébastien was vice president/founder of Anthem Visual Effects and four-time Emmy nominated DFX supervisor. Previous to his work at Anthem, he was DFX supervisor at Rainmaker and VFX supervisor at Hybride.

  • Philippe Thibault

    VP / VFX Supervisor

    Philippe Thibault is the vice president and founding partner of Folks VFX. With over 10 years of experience in the industry, He is the man behind the scenes and he has a say in everything we do. He was nominated twice for an Emmy and won a Gemini for Best Visual Effects. Prior to founding Folks, Philippe worked as digital compositor on many projects for Mikros Image, Rodeo FX and Anthem Visual Effects.

  • Matthew Belbin

    VFX Supervisor

    Matthew Belbin is VFX supervisor and founding partner of Folks VFX. Since day one, Matt has overseen the entire operations at Folks. His ability to maintain a high level of organization and his leadership skills are second to none. He has been nominated for an Emmy as VFX coordinator and won a Gemini for Best Visual Effects. Prior to joining the Folks team, Matt worked as digital colorist and VFX editor at Anthem Visual Effects.

  • Amélie Poitras

    VFX Executive Producer

    Amélie Poitras is our Executive producer and financial director. Amélie’s extensive experience as production accountant and financial controller as well as her ability to make our clients feel at ease make her the most user-friendly $$$ person we could get. She has a clear understanding of the VFX process and uncanny problem-solving skills. She oversees all aspects of a project from liaising with the initial bid, planning and scheduling resources, to working with our VFX team to ensure each project is delivered on time and on budget.

  • Sylvain Lebeau

    Head of CG

    Sylvain Lebeau, a.k.a Sly, is a profound artist with an astonishing track record for creating complex and stunning CG imagery. Before joining Folks as Head of CG, Sly spent 12 years at SHED, a company he co-founded. Over the years he held multiple key roles such as CG supervisor, VFX supervisor, On-set supervisor and mentor; Leading artists on world class visual effects projects. The twenty-plus-year veteran brings a wealth of experience to Folks’ CG department. His leadership and creative vision make him an undeniable leader in our team and the whole community.

  • Gabriel Beauvais

    Assets Supervisor

    As Asset Supervisor, Gabriel takes on the creative challenge of developing and supervising all steps of modeling. His passion for anatomy additionned to his comprehension of shapes and movement allow him to create realistic characters with distinctive backstories. Gabriel lent his expertise to projects such as The Jungle Book, Fantastic Beasts and where to find them, Tarzan, Paddington and much more. Before joining Folks, he also dabbled in entrepreneurship by co-founding Shed MTL, a studio specialized in character development for advertising.

  • Guillaume Pelletier

    Animation Supervisor

    Guillaume Pelletier recently joined the Folks team where he oversees and brings his talent to the 3D animation department. With a specialization in character animation, his expertise gives our team all the tools to bring his projects to life. As graduate of the NAD Center in 2005, he has been an active member of the visual effects industry for more than 12 years which he explored both advertising and film. During his career, he worked on the IGA advertising campaign and most recently on Disney's Beauty and the Beast.

  • Simon Devault

    Compositing Supervisor

    As graduate of ATM, Simon joined the Folks team in the studio’s early stage as a digital compositor. His vision and technical skills executed through passionate work quickly led him to the position of compositing supervisor and VFX supervisor. As both a digital artist and a photographer, his passion for images and his interest in the story behind it is reflected in every aspect of his art.

  • Moika Sabourin

    Art Director

    Artistic director and experienced Matte Painter, Moika stands out thanks to her creative caliber and unparalleled motivation. Having started her career in the world of scenography at the International School of Theater and Uqam, it is once she enrolled at the NAD Center that she started exploring the realm of visual effects. Her technical skills and creative thinking led her to several positions related to Matte Painting and concept art until she joined Folks in 2012 where she plays a key role in ensuring that our team surpasses itself constantly.

  • Bruno Auger

    Senior System Administrator

    As a true technology enthusiast, Bruno cumulates over twenty years of expertise in computer technologies. His career has taken him through several facets of the media industry where he has worked at TQS and TVA, Météomédia and Mikros Image, where he entered the VFX field before joining the ranks of Folks. Bruno's undeniable effectiveness is based on his broad understanding of the reality of visual effects and its . His great devotion to his work as well as his technical knowledge make him an indispensable asset in the company.

  • Rembrandt Van Rijn

    Financial Controller

    Rembrandt is an experienced financial manager and internal accountant. With over seven years of experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements he has become an expert in analyzing a company’s financial health and performances. Originally from Holland, he his Bachelor’s degree at Hogeschool Utrech and later obtained his accounting certificate at McGill University. His meticulous work along with his vast experience are only surpassed by his overwhelming energy and cheerfulness.

  • Pénéloppe Fisette

    HR & Talent Acquisition Manager

    Fresh out of University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Industrial Relations, Penelope is a recent addition to the Folks family. As HR and Talent Acquisition Manager, she developed and broadened recruitment, hiring and administrative staff management strategies within the company. Growing up in a family working actively in the film industry, she combines at Folks her passion for movies and TV series to which she adds her desire to explore labor law and the human spirit.

  • Isabelle Di Sante

    Marketing and Communications Specialist

    With a Bachelor's degree in Marketing Communications and a diploma in Graphic Design, Isabelle joined Folks as a Marketing and Communications Specialist. Her penchant for strategic thinking combined with technical skills in graphic design allow her to be completely invested in every project from the brainstorm phase to delivery. At Folks, she strives to align the studio’s brand identity through content, communication and business positioning strategies.

  • Tavia Charlton

    Directing Manager / Executive Producer

    Tavia has been working in the realm of visual media for thirty years. She started working in front of the camera as a young girl, got the bug for the industry and hasn't stopped since. She is an accomplished Visual Effects Producer with 50+ feature film and television credits combined. Prior to joining Folks VFX in Toronto, Tavia previously worked as VFX Producer at Rocket Science VFX on various television and feature projects.

  • Mark Fordham

    Art Director

    Faithful to his title of Art Director, Mark is an accomplished artist, in every sense of the word. Throughout the 80s and the 90s, Mark's work as a painter and sculptor was showcased in many galleries in Toronto and New York. Matte painting is a major influence on his art and Fine Art inspires his matte painting. Mark has had the opportunity to work with many of the major studios in Toronto as a Matte painter and Concept Artist. His work can be seen in many television and feature projects including the Underworld and the Resident Evil franchises, Hannibal, Scandal, Murdoch Mysteries, London has fallen, Ray Donovan, American Gods to only name a few.
